DESCRIPTION:The Kid’s camp session of Camp Kurios is for students who have completed 1st\, 2nd\, or 3rd grades by the beginning of camp sessions. \nABOUT THIS SESSION: Kids Camp is the perfect introduction to overnight summer camp for children. Kids can experience overnight camp without having to commit to the whole week away from home. By the time these campers “graduate” out of kids camp\, they are super excited about going to the Junior Week session the following year. \nWe play lots of games each day. Kids Campers have a lot of fun while making memories that last a lifetime-they can be found canoeing\, swimming\, playing kickball\, singing around the campfire at night for a rowdy campfire\, attending fun action-oriented Bible classes\, doing crafts\, singing at worship in the evenings\, and more. The minimum age to audition is 12 for the part of the youngest Newsie\, Les Jacobs.\nSet in turn-of-the century New York City\, “Newsies” is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly\, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged newsboys. When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at their expense\, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what’s right! “Newsies” is packed with non-stop thrills and a timeless message\, perfect for the whole family and every audience.\nAudition Forms and Information online at https://saac-arts.org/newsies-auditions/\nShort Version: Be prepared to sing 16 bars of a song and to perform a short musical theatre dance combination.
