DESCRIPTION:Beyond Labels | Más allá de las Etiquetas \nVirmarie DePoyster is a bilingual\, Puerto Rican artist interested in utilizing art to bring communities together. In this portrait exhibition\, she explores how in today’s world — a melting pot — the labels we assign each other have the power to either divide or connect us. Rather than focusing on the boundaries these labels can create\, DePoyster’s goal with these works is to inspire a sense of community as each subject’s intrinsic beauty is illustrated. Her hope is to inspire an appreciation in our community for what makes each of us unique so we can learn to look beyond labels and truly see one another. \n  \nMás allá de las Etiquetas \nVirmarie DePoyster es una artista puertorriqueña bilingüe interesada en utilizar el arte para unir a las comunidades. En esta exhibición de cuadros\, ella explora cómo en el mundo de hoy\, un crisol\, las etiquetas que nos asignamos tienen el poder de dividirnos o conectarnos. En lugar de centrarse en los límites que pueden crear estas etiquetas\, el objetivo de DePoyster con estos trabajos es inspirar un sentido de comunidad\, como se ilustra la belleza intrínseca de cada sujeto. Oslin).

SUMMARY:SAAC's Penguin Project Performance of Finding Nemo
DESCRIPTION:The Penguin Project allows children with differing needs to perform in a live stage production in front of an audience. Each artist is paired with a mentor of a similar age who guides them through the production from start to finish helping them to learn lines\, dances\, songs\, and stage blocking.  Each artist and their mentor operates as a symbiotic pair throughout the entire process\, including appearing on stage together. \n“Finding Nemo\, Kids” is a musical that follows the adventurous journey of a timid clownfish named Marlin and his spirited son\, Nemo\, who is captured by a diver and placed in a fish tank. With the help of Dory\, a forgetful but friendly blue tang\, Marlin embarks on a quest across the ocean to rescue his son. Along the way\, they encounter various sea creatures\, face challenges\, and learn valuable lessons about bravery\, friendship\, and the importance of family. The musical features catchy songs\, vibrant characters\, and a heartwarming message.
