DESCRIPTION:The South Arkansas Arts Center (SAAC) presents “Captivating Landscapes\,” a group exhibition featuring works by Central Arkansas Artists Susan Baker Chambers\, Dolores Justus\, Barbara Satterfield\, and Sandra Sell. The exhibition will be open to the public from March 3 through April 30\, 2026\, in the Price Gallery. A public opening reception will be held on Thursday\, March 5\, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. \nThe artists contributing to “Captivating Landscapes” share a deep identification with and inspiration drawn from the natural world. While each maintains a distinct visual language and preferred medium\, their work reflects personal relationships to gardens\, fields\, forests\, foothills\, and waterways. From this common ground\, the artists focus on specific elements within particular landscapes\, interpreting them through selective and intentional processes that reveal layers of meaning beyond first impressions.

The exhibit will be on display in SAAC’s Merkle Gallery from Monday\, March 30 through Thursday\, April 30. An artist reception honoring Goodwin will be held at SAAC on Monday\, April 6 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. \nBorn in El Dorado\, Goodwin earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Louisiana Tech University and now lives in Little Rock. Much of his career was spent working in sales for the photography\, pre-press\, and printing industries\, where he specialized in fine art reproductions. Today\, he works as a full-time artist creating what he affectionately calls “fun art” – bold\, colorful works often centered on cultural and musical themes.

DESCRIPTION:Clean Harbors will hold its free household hazardous waste collection Saturday\, April 18\, 2026\, for residents of El Dorado and Union County. \nThe drive-up service is offered the third Saturday of every month\, April through September\, at the Clean Harbors facility\, located at 309 American Circle between 8 a.m. and noon on collection days. \nAll hazardous waste should be in a sturdy\, non-returnable container\, as pouring off will not be offered. Residents should make sure the waste can be easily removed from the vehicle to avoid any accidental spills. Some acceptable wastes include: used oil and filters; batteries; paints; solvents; rust removers; antifreeze; automotive products; brake fluids; degreasers; carburetor cleaners; dry cleaning fluids; herbicides; pesticides; pool chemicals; common household cleaners; butane cylinders for grills or lanterns; fluorescent bulbs; and other common household items. \nItems that will not be collected include: smoke detectors\, firearms\, explosives\, compressed gases\, radioactive waste\, business-generated waste\, biomedical waste\, tires\, appliances\, e-waste\, and trash. \nFor additional details\, please call 870.864.3711
