SUMMARY:SAAC: Juried Art Competition Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:SAAC will be hosting its biennial Juried Art Competition\, offering a chance for artists in the region\, the state\, and beyond\, to enter their recent work in an exhibition selected by a leader in the current art world. The competition’s juror\, Teresa Booth Brown\, has been a teaching artist since 1985 and comes most recently from Aspen Art Museum in Colorado. The exhibition will be on view in the Merkle and Price Galleries June 4 through 27\, with an artist reception on the evening of the 27th\, at 5:30pm.

SUMMARY:SAAC: "Drawing Foundations and Experiments" workshop with nationally recognized artist Teresa Booth Brown
DESCRIPTION:Teresa Booth Brown\, Nationally Recognized Artist & Curator Coming to El Dorado\n\nSAAC is excited to welcome nationally recognized artist and curator Teresa Booth Brown to El Dorado this summer. She will serve as juror for the South Arkansas Arts Center’s 2026 Juried Art Competition and host a three-day art workshop focused on drawing fundamentals for area artists.\n\n\nWhile at SAAC\, Teresa will lead “Drawing Foundations and Experiments\,” a three-day workshop designed to help artists and creative improve this important visual skill. “We will build a stronger drawing foundation for all kinds of creative practice through this three-day workshop\,” says Teresa. “Drawing Foundations and Experiments explores multiple methods for an in-depth understanding of drawing. Both traditional and experimental drawing techniques will be investigated to bring new approaches to personal practice.”\n\nThe workshop will meet from 10am to 4pm on Friday-Sunday\, June 26-28. Limited to only 15 participants\, the small group will work directly with Teresa each day\, with materials provided by SAAC. Students will learn a variety of drawing techniques\, including life drawing. Registration is $300 for SAAC members\, or $325 for new patrons\, and can be completed at saac-arts.org/education/workshops.
