SUMMARY:SAAC: "Convergence" in Lobby Gallery by El Dorado Artist Gregory Shyne
DESCRIPTION:Convergence features a collection of abstract monotype prints by El Dorado artist Gregory Shyne. Drawing inspiration from a lifelong fascination with both science and the visual arts\, Shyne explores the relationships between shape\, form\, line\, and pattern through layered compositions that balance artistic intuition with scientific curiosity. \nGrowing up throughout Ohio and the Midwest during the 1960s\, Shyne developed an appreciation for pure abstraction that continues to influence his work today. His background in technology\, combined with interests in psychology and physics\, informs the organic and graphical imagery found throughout the exhibition. \nUsing monotype printmaking with oils and watercolors\, Convergence invites viewers to discover the connections and interactions between patterns\, forms\, and ideas.

SUMMARY:SAAC: "Out of the Fire: The Art of Raku and Pit Firing" in Price Gallery by Little Rock Potter Luke Kramer
DESCRIPTION:Out of the Fire: The Art of Raku and Pit Firing showcases ceramic works by Little Rock artist Luke Kramer that celebrate the ancient firing techniques of Raku and pit firing. Embracing the unpredictable nature of fire as a creative collaborator\, each vessel features one-of-a-kind crackle patterns\, smoky surfaces\, metallic sheens\, and flashes of color that can never be exactly replicated. \nKramer\, who works as an advocate in rare disease research\, discovered pottery as a creative passion that quickly became a lifelong pursuit. His work balances craftsmanship\, experimentation\, and artistic expression while exploring transformation—not only of clay into ceramic\, but also of intention into unexpected beauty. \nThis exhibition invites visitors to embrace the beauty found in uncertainty and discover how spontaneity can become an extraordinary creative partner.
