SUMMARY:SAAC: Merkle Gallery Exhibit "Captivating Landscapes" by Satterfield\, Justus\, Chambers\, and Sell
DESCRIPTION:The South Arkansas Arts Center (SAAC) presents “Captivating Landscapes\,” a group exhibition featuring works by Central Arkansas Artists Susan Baker Chambers\, Dolores Justus\, Barbara Satterfield\, and Sandra Sell. The exhibition will be open to the public from March 3 through April 30\, 2026\, in the Price Gallery. A public opening reception will be held on Thursday\, March 5\, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. \nThe artists contributing to “Captivating Landscapes” share a deep identification with and inspiration drawn from the natural world. While each maintains a distinct visual language and preferred medium\, their work reflects personal relationships to gardens\, fields\, forests\, foothills\, and waterways. From this common ground\, the artists focus on specific elements within particular landscapes\, interpreting them through selective and intentional processes that reveal layers of meaning beyond first impressions.

DESCRIPTION:Shutter and Sound: The Jazz Photography of Bob Willoughby\, an exhibition organized by Mid America Arts Alliance and hosted by the South Arkansas Historical Preservation Society.\n\nOn view from April 7 through May 23\, this exhibition highlights the work of Bob Willoughby\, a photographer widely known for his candid images of Hollywood actors. Before his time on film sets\, Willoughby documented the world of jazz\, capturing musicians and audiences in moments of raw energy and emotion. Working in low light and crowded spaces\, his photographs convey a sense of intimacy and movement\, bringing viewers into the heart of the performance.\n\nThe exhibition is open Tuesday through Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm and Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm at 412 E.
