SUMMARY:Power of the Purse - A Fundraiser for Dolly Parton Imagination Library
DESCRIPTION:It sounds almost too good to be true – free books for children in Union County\, Arkansas! \nTo support childhood literacy and the Dolly Parton Imagination Library\, the United Way of Union County will host Power of the Purse at 6 p.m. on Thursday\, April 20 at the Granite Club in El Dorado. \nThe Power of the Purse will feature a fashion show from local merchants; a silent auction\, which includes designer purses and other items; and heavy hors d’oeuvres and adult beverages. Entertainment will be provided. \nIndividual tickets for the event are $35. Group tickets for businesses are also available. In addition\, tickets for a raffle of a designer purse are also available for $5 each. Tickets will be available soon. \nThanks to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and the United Way of Union County\, children under the age of 5 years can now have access to their own library where a book is mailed to each enrolled child every month until their fifth birthday. There are currently more than 1\,400 children enrolled in the program. In order to enroll more children\, we must raise funds to continue to advance the program. \nAll proceeds from the event will directly benefit United Way of Union County’s early literacy initiative – the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The book program is offered to families at no cost.
