DESCRIPTION:Friday\, March 28\, 2025 at 1:00 pm \nTinker Time for Kids: Horsehead\, Walking Beam and Samson Posts \nWhat is a horsehead and what does it have to do with oil?  What about a walking beam and\nsamson posts?  Learn about a few of the machines used in oil drilling and production during the 1920s South Arkansas oil boom and in later decades.  Hear exciting stories of the people who worked those machines and often endured dangerous conditions.  Then complete a hands-on project of a pumping unit using cardstock\, scissors and a variety of other materials. \nPlease contact the museum at (870) 725-2877 to reserve a place in the program.  This program is designed for children from ages 6 to 12 but all are welcome.  Adults are required to remain with their children for the duration of the program.

Learn how at first the boom brought chaos and danger\, but eventually change and new opportunities to the region. In the event of inclement weather\, a tour of the Boomtown Street gallery in the museum will replace the Oil Field Park Tour.

DESCRIPTION:27th Annual El Dorado Service League Golf Tournament \nApril 4th – 5th at Pine Hills Country Club \n• Two-person scramble format: Open to men and women. Amateur status only.\n• Entry fee is $225/ person\, $450/ team\, includes costs for skins and mulligans. Deadline for entry is\nFriday\, March 21st or until full.\n• The tournament is a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. on Friday and at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday\n• Entry fee includes light snacks on Friday afternoon\, dinner on Friday evening (plus one)\, lunch &\nsnacks on Saturday\, and fun games. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the  UCAPS 5th Annual Race for the Rescues 5K Run and 1 Mile walk.  The proceeds will help feed\, medicate\, and find homes for the abused and abandoned animals in Union County.  This amazing program is run solely on donations by generous individuals and community fund raisers. \nPlace:  201 North Jackson Street\, El Dorado\, AR  71730 \nDate:  Saturday\, April 5th  Time:  8AM \nEntry Fee – Individual $30  Child 12 or under $25  Race Day:  $35 \n1-Mile Walk – Is for participants who want to walk with their leashed dog/pet.  If is a fun event for dogs/pets of all breeds\, ages and sizes! \nRunner Amenities:  Each participant will receive a T-Shirt of your size\, To be guaranteed a T-shirt of your size\, you must Register by March 28th. \nPacket Pick-up:  At race site on the morning of the race – Saturday\, April 5th  6:45-7:45AM \nCourse: \n5K: Race will start at 201 N Jackson\, proceed down N Jackson\, turn right at Faulkner\, then left onto Madison. Run all the way down Madison till you hit the dead end\,  turn around and come back the way you came. \n1 Mile Walk: Proceed down N Jackson\, turn right onto Faulkner\, then left onto Madison. Turn around at 3RD street and come back the way you came. \nTrophies and medals will be given to overall men and women’s top three finishers. \nMedals will be given to the top three finishers in each age group for men and women. \nAge groups are: 12 and under\, 13-19\, 20-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59\, 60 and over. \nMedals will be given to the overall top three finishers\, men and women\, for the 1 Mile walk.
