Made up of band members Brandon Kelly (lead vocals)\, Jeremy Castaldo (keys/acoustic guitar/electric guitar/background vocals)\, and Drew Smith (acoustic guitar/background vocals)\, Copper Flats is already lighting up its followers’ feeds on socials with charismatic personalities and thick country sounds. This Arkansas-based band took the long-term approach to their music by spending six months in Nashville meticulously writing and recording a year’s worth of original songs. Inspired by time with family\, the outdoors\, and everyday life\, the depth of the lyrics tells a story we’ve all lived.\nAs longtime founders and musicians in previous projects\, the bandmates are no strangers to big stages. If you thought you recognized Smith and Castaldo as original members of Midnight South and supporting musicians for country artist Tyler Kinch\, you’d be correct. Among the three band members\, they have shared the stage supporting some of the biggest names in country music\, like Kenny Chesney\, Parker McCollum\, Justin Moore\, Dylan Scott\, Bailey Zimmerman\, Flatland Cavalry\, Nate Smith\, Randy Houser\, Lonestar\, Tracy Byrd\, Aaron Tippin\, Collin Raye\, Sammy Kershaw\, Tyler Farr\, Corey Kent\, Jon Langston\, Sister Hazel\, Easton Corbin\, and Tanner Usrey.\n“We started this project in September of 2024\,” says Castaldo. “Heading to Nashville\, we set off to write and record a single tune with our producer and friend\, Aaron Gillespie. I have worked with Aaron in the past on previous projects\, and he is the best in the business.” What started as a fun side project\, though\, quickly turned out to be much more after the first song was completed. Leaning on advice from Gillespie (Thomas Rhett\, Mitchell Tenpenny\, RaeLynn)\, the members of Copper Flats have shaped their modern country melodies – with beefy rhythm section parts\, catchy guitar riffs\, and thick three-part harmonies – around Kelly’s authentic country vocals.\nThese days the metaphorical “dirt road” of the country music genre is wide and offers plenty of opportunity to enjoy everything from the classic sounds of Johnny Cash\, Loretta Lynn\, and Waylon Jennings to a more progressive sound with Post Malone’s return to his country roots with his album\, F-1 Trillion. Using folded paper\, participants will construct pocket-sized books of eight pages each\, with the opportunity to produce multiple zines throughout the day. \nStone will encourage participants to draw inspiration from favorite poems\, literary works\, or their own original writing\, pairing words with images in inventive collages. Using found and recycled materials—books\, magazines\, packaging\, tags\, labels\, scraps\, and more—participants will transform everyday paper into artful expressions of creativity.

DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Arkansas Cinema Society (ACS) and the University of Central Arkansas Film Department are teaming up with the El Dorado Film Festival (EDFF) to present the Filmland: Arkansas Road Show on Wednesday\, Nov. 19th at 6:00 pm at Stars Cinema 6\, located at 2600 W Hillsboro St. in El Dorado. This free event will feature short films by Arkansas residents and natives along with a discussion on how people can get involved in filmmaking in the state. A Filmmaker Mixer will take place at the theater beforehand at 5:00 pm and is open to everyone. \n  \n“Growing up in South Arkansas\, I never thought of filmmaking as a career because it just seemed so out of reach\,” said ACS Education Director Kody Ford. “But the El Dorado Film Festival has really changed the game and brought independent movies to the region. And now\, students can enroll in top notch filmmaking programs at schools like UCA in Conway. So\, we are very excited to team up so anyone\, young or old who is interested\, can learn more about filmmaking in our state and how they can get involved.” \n  \nThe evening will feature films by Smackover natives Clayton Henderson and Javion Lee alongside selections from the El Dorado Film Festival and ACS’s Filmland: Arkansas program. Ford will discuss career paths in Arkansas for anyone interested in filmmaking. UCA professor Emily Railsback will also talk about the school’s undergraduate and graduate programs in filmmaking. UCA Film’s mission is to develop creators\, innovators and leaders for the future of filmmaking by combining new technology with the fundamentals of storytelling to produce creative\, original stories\, with an eye towards emerging technologies that enhance the production\, distribution\, and exhibition of those works in the global marketplace. The 22nd Annual UCA Film Festival will premiere top student work at Reynolds Performance Hall on April 24th\, 2026. \n  \nAbout Arkansas Cinema Society\nArkansas Cinema Society (ACS) is a non-profit committed to building a film community in Arkansas where film lovers can watch films\, share ideas\, connect with each other\, and nurture the new and existing film talent within our state through increased exposure to filmmakers and their art. SUMMARY:Holiday of Lights at the Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources
DESCRIPTION:AMNR’s Holiday of Lights returns for five festive weekends in 2025\, beginning the Friday and Saturday before Thanksgiving and continuing every Friday and Saturday night through the weekend before Christmas. Visitors can enjoy the event on November 21–22\, November 28–29\, December 5–6\, December 12–13\, and December 19–20\, from 6 to 9 p.m. (last entry at 8:30 p.m.). Admission is $10 per vehicle. Though not a drive-through\, the lighted walking trail is a quarter mile long\, and wheelchairs are available. Guests can enjoy hot chocolate in the Museum Lobby\, shop in the Museum Gift Shop\, and visit with Santa Claus for free photographs on Saturday\, November 22\, and Saturday\, December 6\, from 6–8 p.m. The museum galleries will be closed during the event.
