JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Clinical/Simulation Educator
Job Summary:
The Clinical/Simulation Educator shall be responsible for planning, coordinating, administering and assessing both high and low fidelity simulation for students in the Health Science Division of South Arkansas Community College. This person will assist with maintaining and operating both the simulation and skills lab, providing students with appropriate clinical and simulation experiences and providing guidance to students toward safe nursing care. Occasional weekend and evening work hours will be required. This is a full-time position with occasional weekend and evening work hours.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Clinical/Simulation Educator is responsible for supervising nursing students in the laboratory and the clinical setting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The Clinical/Simulation Educator will possess:
- Sound familiarity of current nursing concepts, principles, practices, and skills.
- Adequate computer skills to be able to operate the simulators and grade clinical assignments.
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Valid, unencumbered Arkansas Registered Nursing license.
- Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
5 or more years’ experience in an acute care setting.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: physical mobility sufficient for direct supervision of students in lab and clinical settings; have visual ability sufficient for observation and assessment; auditory ability sufficient for monitoring and assessing health needs; and fine and gross motor skills sufficient for providing safe and competent nursing care. The employee must be able to move around and about their area, and operate a computer as needed. Some lifting will be expected and he/she must be able to perform expected duties of a nursing educator in various clinical settings.
Travel Requirements:
Local travel is expected for clinical supervision duties. Rare regional travel may be necessary for clinical supervision duties. Other travel may be required for simulation training.
