Job Description

The Corporate Education Training Coordinator serves as the department leader for SouthArk’s non-credit corporate, industrial, and safety training programs, including but not limited to C-STOP, OSHA-10, OSHA-30, Forklift Certifications, HAZWOPER, MSSC-Certified Production Technician, NCCER, software applications, leadership development programs, and apprenticeships. Additionally, the Coordinator will collaborate with the Executive Director and local industry partners to develop and customize training solutions to meet their needs. This full-time, 12-month administrative position reports to the Executive Director for the Career Accelerator. The typical schedule is 7:30 – 5:00 Monday through Thursday and 7:30 – 11:30 on Friday; however, times may be adjusted to teach evening and/or weekend classes both on and off-site.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position supervises the Corporate Education Specialist and adjunct faculty hired to teach specific training programs.

Job Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate to identify potential training opportunities and develop partnership
    • Oversee all instructional components for non-credit
    • Schedule and oversee the administration of non-credit classes
    • Develop a marketing plan for non-credit classes
    • Recruit non-credit adjunct faculty to provide industrial training
    • Teach industrial safety classes as appropriate
    • Use enrollment metrics to make data driven decisions
    • Manage the Corporate Education budget and provide monthly P&L reports
    • Provide leadership to team members
    • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director for the Career Accelerator
Skills and Abilities:
  • Know current industrial and safety practices, as well as federal and state occupational safety regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and student information systems
  • Manage time wisely to ensure deadlines and schedules are met
  • Collaborate with a variety of individuals and industrial partners
  • Communicate effectively (excellent written and verbal skills required)

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in an industrial (or related) field
  • OSHA certifications in General Industry or Construction
  • Minimum of five years of experience in advanced manufacturing and/or construction

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an industrial (or related) field
  • Three years of experience in safety training and/or classroom experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift and carry 10 pounds
