Job Description

This position will provide oversight and instruction to the following courses in adult education: CNA, Phlebotomy, and Medication Technician. This position will assist the director by coordinating clinical studies, ensuring program requirements are met, and signing off on required student skills checklists. The primary instructor will manage educational objectives and regulatory requirements. This role will ensure instructional policies are met for the health science courses of the Adult Education program. The primary instructor teaches and oversees the program. The instructor works under the general supervision of the Director of Adult Education. This is a 100% grant funded, part-time position (20-25 hours per week).

Supervisory Responsibilities:

While the primary instructor does not supervise employees, administrative oversight is provided to ensure high-quality instruction which aligns with program objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Educates students according to program guidelines
  • Maintains accurate documentation of classes, attendance, and other related information.
  • Collaborates with other team members to ensure administrative processes and procedures are followed
  • Administers student assessments
  • Provides exceptional customer service to prospects, students, and community partners.
  • Represents the program in the community, identify resources, identify potential partners, and advocate for SouthArk Adult Education
  • Recruits healthcare partners for clinical program and potential employment

Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

  • RN License
  • At least five years of long-term care experience

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience teaching in an adult education program
  • Current Arkansas Adult Education teaching certification

Travel Requirements:

  • Instruction and clinical oversight at off-campus approved facilities

Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily an instructional role, requiring navigation in the classroom to assist students and movement between offices and other areas for meetings
  • Occasional light lifting of files, boxes, or office materials (typically less than 10 lbs)
