Job Description

Job Summary: This position reports to the Testing Center Coordinator and works on an as-needed basis to support the daily operations of the Testing Center. The role assists with scheduling and administering a variety of exams, including placement, standardized, make-up, and certification or licensure tests, while ensuring compliance with testing guidelines, accreditation standards, and institutional policies. Responsibilities include maintaining test security and confidentiality, ensuring optimal testing conditions, and delivering excellent customer service to students, faculty, and community members. The position may also proctor classroom exams for instructors and oversee Testing Center operations in the absence of the coordinator. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.

Compensation: $11 per hour.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Testing Center Coordinator in scheduling, and administering placement exams, standardized tests, make-up exams, certification/licensure tests, and other assessments required by the college on an as needed basis
  • Ensure compliance with testing company guidelines, accreditation standards, and institutional policies.
  • Maintain test security and confidentiality of testing materials, student records, and scores.
  • Assist with ensuring optimum testing conditions and maintaining a Testing Center environment sensitive to user requirements
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting students, faculty, and community members with testing inquiries and procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date certifications for test administration as needed.
  • Monitors and observes classroom testing as needed by instructors
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Basic to Intermediate skill in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical problems related to testing equipment, software, or online assessments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent customer service skills

Required Education and Experience:

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma.
Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to seat and look at computer screens for extended periods of time and will require extended periods of sitting.
