Though not a drive-through\, the lighted walking trail is a quarter mile long\, and wheelchairs are available. Guests can enjoy hot chocolate in the Museum Lobby\, shop in the Museum Gift Shop\, and visit with Santa Claus for free photographs on Saturday\, November 22\, and Saturday\, December 6\, from 6–8 p.m. The museum galleries will be closed during the event.

Learn how at first the boom brought chaos and danger\, but\neventually change and new opportunities to the region. In the event of\ninclement weather\, a tour of the Boomtown Street gallery in the museum will\nreplace the Oil Field Park Tour.

This report and many others marked the start of one of the largest petroleum booms in the history of the nation. Discover the stories of the South Arkansas Oil Boom and the oil field workers known as roughnecks\, as you explore the Oil Field Park and the outside exhibits with the museum curator. Learn how at first the boom brought chaos and danger\, but eventually change and new opportunities to the region. In the event of inclement weather\, a tour of the Boomtown Street gallery in the museum will replace the Oil Field Park Tour.
