Pumping- Jack Jumping Contraption kids activity

After the Oil Field Park tour, please stay for this fun follow-up tinkering activity. This opportunity to make your own pumping jack can offer guests a hands-on understanding of how pumping jacks work with a simple crank. This activity is appropriate for ages 10 and up, or also for eight year-olds with adult assistance. We will be working with wooden blocks, some sharp objects, basic hand tools, and art foam (a petroleum by-product) in this cranky contraption construction. Covid-19 precautions are in place for the safety of guests and museum staff.
