Our El Dorado Wildcats are Champions as well, winning state titles in football and golf. Speaking of golf, we have several challenging courses at every level. If you enjoy golf as a spectator, be sure to take in the Murphy USA Shootout, a qualifier event for the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) at Mystic Creek each fall.
Each year, the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout welcomes the top aspiring female golfers from around the world vying for a spot on the LPGA tour. The event is held at Mystic Creek Golf Club and has become a favorite among both the female athletes on the Epson Tour and golf fans across South Arkansas. The Shootout also provides an opportunity to give back, as each year a charity is chosen to benefit from the tournament proceeds.
This annual fall tradition pits one Great American Conference team against another in a competitive game played at Memorial Stadium in El Dorado. As title sponsor, Murphy USA’s involvement has helped transform this game into an expansive tailgating event, bringing together university students, alumni and college football fans for an afternoon of pigskin revelry as the two teams meet on the gridiron in El Dorado.
