Quorum Court
In Arkansas local government, the county judge serves as the chief executive of the county. As such, the county judge authorizes and approves disbursement of all appropriated county funds, operates the system of county roads, administers ordinances enacted by the quorum court, has custody of county property, accepts grants from federal, state, public and private sources, and presides at the meetings of the quorum court without a vote but with the power of veto.
The county judge sits in a judicial role as the county court. The county court has jurisdiction in matters relating to county taxes, general public utilities, trade and commerce, transportation and natural resources. The quorum court meets in the Union County Courthouse.

Arkansas Legislature for Committee Information
City Council:
The first meeting of the El Dorado City Council is held on the second Thursday of each at 5 p.m. The second City Council meeting is held on the second Wednesday following the first meeting at 10 a.m., to discuss Public Works and El Dorado Water Utilities matters. Both meetings are held in the City Council Chamber at City Hall.
Quorum Court:
The Union County Quorum Court meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. in third-floor courtroom at the Union County Courthouse.
Advertising & Promotion Commission:
The Advertising & Promotion Commission meets the 1st Monday of every other month starting in January in the council chambers of City Hall.
Airport Commission:
The Airport Commission meets on the 2nd Monday of the month at noon in the second-floor meeting room at South Arkansas Regional Airport
Civil Service Committee:
The Civil Service Committee meets as needed.
Complex Board:
The Complex Board meets the 1st Friday of each month at Noon in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
El Dorado Works Board:
The El Dorado Works Board meets on the Tuesday before the City Council meeting at 5:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
Historic District Commission:
The Historic District Commission meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month at noon in the 2nd floor conference room at City Hall.
Library Board:
The library board meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m. at the Barton Library.
Parks & Playgrounds Commission:
The Parks & Playgrounds Commission meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month at Noon in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
Planning & Zoning Commission:
The Planning & Zoning Commission meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at Noon at City Hall.
Union County Conservation District:
The Union County Conservation District meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m. at 612 N. Flenniken Avenue in El Dorado.
Water Advisory Board:
The Water Advisory Board meets on the 2nd Tuesday after the month at 8:30 a.m. at their central location training room.
Water Utilities & Public Works Board:
The Water Utilities & Public Works Board meets on the Wednesday following the Water Advisory Board meeting each month at 10 a.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
