SAAC: “Convergence” in Lobby Gallery by El Dorado Artist Gregory Shyne

Convergence features a collection of abstract monotype prints by El Dorado artist Gregory Shyne. Drawing inspiration from a lifelong fascination with both science and the visual arts, Shyne explores the relationships between shape, form, line, and pattern through layered compositions that balance artistic intuition with scientific curiosity.

Growing up throughout Ohio and the Midwest during the 1960s, Shyne developed an appreciation for pure abstraction that continues to influence his work today. His background in technology, combined with interests in psychology and physics, informs the organic and graphical imagery found throughout the exhibition.

Using monotype printmaking with oils and watercolors, Convergence invites viewers to discover the connections and interactions between patterns, forms, and ideas.
