SAAC: Lobby Gallery Exhibit, Barbara Satterfield: Found Object Portraits

Clay artist Barbara Satterfield creates original ceramic sculptures and vessels inspired by
nature, often incorporating found objects or press molds of found objects she has gathered
over decades. Primarily a coil builder, she stretches her medium to coax clay forms into
unusual compositions that lift up often-overlooked aspects of the natural world. Her
finishes range from borosilicate glazes to oil paints and encaustic. Her photography line,
Outside In, provides digital images of her original work to share on a shelf, tuck in a corner,
or grace a small space. Satterfield creates work in her home studio in Conway, Arkansas, and her work will be on display in SAAC’s Lobby Gallery from March 3 to March 26.
