Out of the Fire: The Art of Raku and Pit Firing showcases ceramic works by Little Rock artist Luke Kramer that celebrate the ancient firing techniques of Raku and pit firing. Embracing the unpredictable nature of fire as a creative collaborator, each vessel features one-of-a-kind crackle patterns, smoky surfaces, metallic sheens, and flashes of color that can never be exactly replicated.

Kramer, who works as an advocate in rare disease research, discovered pottery as a creative passion that quickly became a lifelong pursuit. His work balances craftsmanship, experimentation, and artistic expression while exploring transformation—not only of clay into ceramic, but also of intention into unexpected beauty.
