Tinker Time for Kids: Pyramids, Pirogues and Automobiles
Who was Sylvanus Bowser and why is he important to the oil industry? And what do pyramids, pirogues and cars have in common? And what exactly is a pirogue? Come and find out the answers to these questions, when you explore the “Past Uses of Petroleum” gallery with the museum curator and discover the history of petroleum. Then design your own miniature antique gasoline pump using cardstock, markers, colored pencils, glue, tape, craft sticks and a variety of other materials.
This program is designed for children 6 to 12 years of age, but all are welcome. Adults are required to stay with their children for the duration of the program. Please call the museum at (870) 725-2877 to reserve a place in the program.
