Tinker Time for Kids: Dinosaurs or Diatoms: What’s in the Oil?
Saturday, February 15, 2025
Starts at 1:00 pm
Microscopic plankton or gigantic dinosaurs? Did oil come from one of these creatures, both, or maybe neither one? Investigate the origins of oil and learn how oil came to be found in south Arkansas. With the help of the curator, explore the geology gallery in the museum, and see a working pumping unit and a reconstruction of a 1920s oil derrick in the Oil Field Park. This program is designed for children ages 6-12, but all are welcome. Adults are required to remain with their children during the program. Please contact the museum at (870) 725-2877 to reserve a place for your child in the program.
