Job Description

Job Summary:

South Arkansas College is seeking applicants for the position of Student Recruitment Specialist. The responsibilities include, but not limited to, attracting, engaging, and enrolling prospective students into the college. The position serves as the primary college recruiter and coordinates student recruitment efforts with other offices in Student Affairs as well as the academic divisions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Occasional supervision of Student Ambassadors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract prospective students, including high school visits, college fairs, visits to churches and places of employment, community events, and other outreach initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with high school counselors, career coaches, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote the college and its programs and serving as an information liaison between South Arkansas College and these positions.
  • Plan and conduct informational sessions, campus tours, and presentations to prospective students and their families to highlight the college’s academic offerings, extracurricular activities, and campus life.
  • Provide personalized guidance and support to prospective students throughout the application and enrollment process, addressing questions and concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Maintains an accurate record-keeping system of all recruiting activities and efforts for use in evaluating on-going recruiting programs.
  • Utilize data analytics and enrollment management tools to track recruitment efforts, monitor application trends, and identify opportunities and strategies for improvement.
  • Represent the college at recruitment events, conferences, community events, and networking functions to enhance visibility of the campus.
  • Stay informed about trends and best practices in college admissions, student recruitment, and higher education marketing to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Serves on college committees as requested by the Vice President of Student Affairs or the Director of Marketing, Communications, and Recruiting.
  • Other duties as assigned by Athletic Director.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel as needed.

Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required; 1 year previous experience in college recruiting; Verifiable clean driving record

Preferred Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field preferred. 5 years college recruitment experience.

Physical/Work Requirements:

Exerting up to 20-30 pounds occasionally. Standing and walking for 4-5 hours occasionally. Evening and weekend hours is required. Travel to college fairs and recruitment events is required.
