Chamber of Commerce to mark 100 years at annual meeting

The El Dorado-Union County Chamber of Commerce will be celebrating 100 years of business and service in El Dorado at this year’s annual meeting.

The annual meeting luncheon, which will be held on Wednesday, May 5 at the First Financial Music Hall, will feature Speaker of the Arkansas House of Representatives Matthew Shepherd as the keynote speaker.

“We are very excited to announce this year’s annual meeting and celebrate 100 years of the Chamber of Commerce in El Dorado,” said Bill Luther, President and CEO of the Chamber. “This is our biggest event of the year. Unfortunately, we had to cancel last year so we are looking forward to being able to hold the meeting this year.”

The El Dorado-Union County Chamber ofCommerce’s Annual Meeting allows the public to see the Chamber of Commerce’s new leadership and ambassadors. During the banquet, the Chamber celebrates the success of the previous year, along with announcing the Ambassador of the Year and the winner of the First Financial Bank’s Nonprofit Excellence Award.

The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. and end around 1 p.m. in the First Financial Music Hall at the Murphy Arts District.

“We are looking forward to hearing our keynote speaker – Speaker of the Arkansas House of Representatives Matthew Shepherd.” Luther said. “I believe he will have an insightful message for all of our attendees because of his vast knowledge and experience in law and politics. Introducing Speaker Shepherd will be Randy Zook, President and CEO of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and the Associated Industries of Arkansas.”
