Main Street Cash Mob to Strike Again Sept. 27

Posted on September 20, 2012

On August 16, the very first Main Street Cash Mob hit Downtown El Dorado leaving $1,600 in sales over a two-hour period. The “shop-local? event generated quite a bit of media attention including a front-page feature in the Style Section of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

It is time for the Main Street Cash Mob to strike again. Please make plans to take part Thursday, September 27, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Main Street El Dorado will let you know the business the mob will be hitting on Wednesday, September 26.

The concept is simple: With $20 in hand, members of a community come together to shop in a locally-owned establishment to support their favorite local business and support the area economy. Remember, there are only three rules to participating in the Cash Mob.

1.       You must spend at least $20 in the selected business.
2.       You must meet 3 new people.
3.       You must have fun in creating an economic impact for a locally-owned, downtown business.

Please know that the selected business will be drawn randomly. Once selected, it will be removed so that the Cash Mob gradually hits each business.

Main Street El Dorado asks that you let them know if you will be participating so they can alert the business early so they have time to prepare. Find them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/mainstreeteldorado or send them an email.
