The South Arkansas Arts Center announces the opening of their annual Membership Show and Competition, in the Merkle and Price Galleries, on November 1. The show, sponsored by William P. Cook and Associates, PLLC, continues until November 21. An artist reception will be hosted on Friday, November 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
This year?s judges, Brenda and John Keech, will announce the winning entries during the artist reception. The exhibition of 2-D and 3-D works created by artist members of SAAC and the artist reception are free and open to the public. The galleries are open Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Arkansas State University faculty alumni and husband and wife artists, Brenda and John Keech, will select, from 67 works by SAAC artists, prizes for Best of Show, First Place, Second Place, Third Place, and Honorable Mention. Five Purchase Awards, including the Director?s Award, will be selected by area businesses and put be on public display.
The annual competition is open to any SAAC member. All 2-D and 3-D fine art media is accepted, including photography and computer generated work. Pieces must be original, completed in the last two years, and not previously shown at SAAC.
