Job Description
The Oil Blending Technician is responsible for the accurate and safe blending of base oils and additives to produce various types of lubricants and petroleum-based products according to specified formulas and quality standards. This role is crucial in ensuring consistent product performance and contributes to the overall success of the production process.
Key Responsibilities
- Blending Operations: Measure and dispense base oils and additives, monitor the blending process, perform quality checks, and adjust blends based on lab results.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory and coordinate deliveries.
- Quality Control: Adhere to quality and safety standards, document activities, and report deviations.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain blending equipment.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with regulations.
Job Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable, but training may be provided.
- Strong math skills for calculations.
- Knowledge of oil chemistry preferred.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Physical ability to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, and maneuver equipment.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Forklift certification preferred or required upon hire.
- Ability to pass a drug/alcohol screening, background check, physical, and functional capacity exam.
