Steve Cousins of El Dorado has been named chairman of the SHARE Foundation board of directors.
Cousins currently serves as refinery manager at Lion Oil Refinery, a wholly-owned company of Delek U.S. Holdings. He started work at the refinery in 1978 as a process engineer and has served as process engineering assistant, plant manager, vice president of refining and vice president of Governmental Affairs prior to his current position.
Cousins is a member of the South Arkansas Community College board of trustees where he serves as chairman and is a member of the Arkansas Department of Higher Education Coordinating Commission. He also serves on the board of directors of Fifty for the Future of El Dorado, as vice president of the Associated Industries of Arkansas and as a director of the Arkansas Gas Consumers and the Arkansas Electrical Energy Consumers. He also served as a commissioner on the Governor?s Commission on Global Warming.
Cousins is a member of the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers Steering and Policy Committees, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the University of Arkansas Academy of Chemical Engineers, and is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Arkansas. In April of this year, he was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award by the University of Arkansas College of Engineering.
According to a release, "The SHARE Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity. SHARE?s mission is to identify, develop and foster programs and services that further the health and well-being of the people of our community and surrounding areas. The mission to enhance the well-being of our community is achieved by offering the following seven outstanding services: Life Touch Hospice, HealthWorks Fitness Center, Interfaith Clinic, PRIDE Youth Programs, Chaplaincy Services, SHARE Scholarship Program and SHARE Grantmaking. Cousins became a member of the SHARE board in 2001 and has served as board secretary since 2008 and chairman of the Finance and Investments Committee since August 2010.?
