1968: A Folsom Redemption-Johnny Cash Exhibition

The Gallery of History Museum is proud to announce the opening of 1968: A Folsom Redemption on September 1, 2026!

Born in Kingsland, Arkansas, Johnny Cash became one of the most influential and beloved performers in American music. Now, you can experience a remarkable chapter in the life of this Arkansas native right here in El Dorado.

This incredible photography exhibition takes you behind the scenes of Cash’s historic 1968 Folsom Prison concert, featuring 31 intimate photographs captured by journalists Dan Poush and Gene Beley—including Cash with family, friends, musicians, and country music legend Merle Haggard.
