Subtitled, a Horror in Requiem, this incarnation adheres closely to the book in both spirit and plot as the legendary evil vampire finds himself battling a group of friends who are determined to end his reign of terror. Combining dialogue, movement and stage combat, the play offers the audience a chance to experience the fear and passion behind the classical tale of horror and blood. Don’t expect sweeping romance, but expect to be challenged and shaken by the nineteenth-century themes that are just as relevant in a modern era. This is the first step in a workshopping process for the new play and we will have an audience talkback session, if time allows.
The reading will be held in the auditorium of the Mahony Family Library on the South Arkansas College Campus in El Dorado at 6 p.m. Admission is absolutely free. So kick off your Halloween evening with a travel back to Transylvania, if you dare
