El Dorado will ring in the new year with a fireworks display on Monday, December 31, at 6:00 p.m. at the Union County Fairgrounds. Residents and visitors are welcome to set out lawn chairs or watch the fireworks from their cars at the fairgrounds.
Organized by the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce, these fireworks were originally scheduled for the Fourth of July, but, due to the county-wide burn ban, they were rescheduled for New Year?s Eve.
"The New Year's Eve fireworks will be the perfect way to celebrate with friends and family,? said Christy Murphy, who is in charge of the Chamber?s community events. "The community can come together at the fairgrounds and watch the spectacular fireworks show that we have planned for Union County."
This event would not be possible without the generosity of many businesses and individuals who sponsored the fireworks. This year?s sponsors include: Big Bang Sponsors Clean Harbors, Deltic Timber Corporation, El Dorado News-Times, First Financial Bank, Great Lakes Solutions, Milam Construction, Murphy Oil Corporation, Nexans AmerCable, Noalmark Broadcasting, Professional Cosmetology Education Center and WCA Waste Corporation; Firecracker Sponsors Calion Lumber Co., Tetra Technologies, El Dorado Chemical Co. and El Dorado Federal Center, LLC; and Sparkler Sponsors Bill's Pawn Shop, Burton's H & H Maintenance, Dr. Wendell Garrett, DDS, Dr. Richard C.
